From October through April, our location offers unparalleled views of the northern lights, with the auroras reflecting off the mirrored walls of our houses, amplifying the magic. Whether you’re gazing at the sky from the comfort of your bed or soaking in a hot tub with Mount Hekla towering behind, the experience of witnessing the auroras in this setting is nothing short of magical. For the ultimate experience, visit the Northern Light Lounge, designed to let you soak in the beauty of this natural wonder while staying warm and cozy. The Lounge is equipped with a large sauna and hot tub, making it the perfect spot to relax and connect with fellow travelers.

For those seeking extra space and luxury, the Volcano House offers the ultimate Icelandic retreat. With a private sauna, hot tub, and panoramic views of Mount Hekla, this mirrored house provides the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. The house includes a double bed, spacious living area, kitchenette, and bathroom, with all modern comforts. Soak in the hot tub or unwind in the sauna, and recharge after a day of exploring Iceland's volcanic landscapes and breathtaking natural beauty.

ÖÖD Hekla Horizon: House Types and Amenities

Our seven stunning houses include two spacious two-bedroom houses with private saunas (Glacier House, Geysir House), two one-bedroom Extended Houses with private saunas and hot tubs (Volcano House, Lava House), and three one-bedroom Signature Houses with access to a shared Lounge sauna and hot tub (Sky House, River House, Moss House). Guests can also enjoy the Northern Lights Lounge, ideal for relaxing while watching the auroras.
